A Friday night favorite

I can think of no better way to spend a Friday night than curled up on the couch with a hot grilled cheese sandwich, a bowl of hearty tomato soup, a movie, and my man.  Grilled cheese and tomato soup is like comfort food for me - it brings back memories of being a kid, of feeling safe, of having no worries in the world.  And it's so dang delicious!  Being curled up on the couch with a good movie is something I will always enjoy - any day of the week.  And my man?  Well, that's probably obvious.  My week was more than I cared to handle, but at last Friday had arrived!  I made my trek from Plymouth to Woodbury and was looking forward to making a scrumptious dinner and having a lowkey night.  It did not take me long to remember that it was Lent, so I could not eat the chicken we had set out to thaw.  Urgh.  I scrounged the cupboards for something Lent-acceptable, but we didn't have much to choose from....

I caved

Image
A few weeks ago I caved.  I never thought I really would, but that day, I walked into the Coach outlet store and walked out with a purse!  Ok, so it's actually a clutch - I hadn't surrendered to a $500 purse.  (If I ever do, someone please ask me if I'm feeling ok, because that would be very much unlike me). An adorable puple clutch!  A friend of ours was already in line to buy this same one, and it only took me a matter of minutes to decide that I wanted one myself.  In the back of my mind, I thought I would eventually put it back on the shelf and talk myself out of ...

Wedding planning is not all it’s cracked up to be.

Wedding planning is no easy task. Why didn’t anyone tell me?! I could have never imagined how much goes into each and every little detail. Maybe we shouldn’t be spending as much time as we are on each detail, but when we’re shelling out thousands of dollars for the big day (I still cringe thinking about how expensive those 7 hours will be), we just can’t help but be overly thorough. We have made some pretty good progress for being 218 days away - though my checklist on theknot.com may say otherwise. Our biggest accomplishments? Ceremony and reception venue…check. Caterer…check. DJ…check. Dress…check. Bridesmaid dresses…check. And that’s about it. We are on the verge of getting our photographer booked, just negotiating a deal. Now on to cakes and flowers – if any of you have tips/recommendations, I’ll gladly take them! I feel like I am disorganized ALL the time. Even with a pretty wedding binder, I can’t keep up! I mistakenly signed up for something on MN Bride, so I have been g...

I'm back.

I’m determined to give blogging another shot. My first blog was short-lived, but I blame part of its extinction to the inappropriate Spam comments that were being left on my posts. The other was due to my laziness. So here’s a second try. I love reading other people’s blogs, so why not have my own to look back on as well?
