Day in the Life - Spring 2017

Image
Time for another "Day in the Life!" I was excited to do this now, as a family of 4, as I know our days will never be the same again. I barely remember 2 weeks ago, so being able to look back years from now on this one particular day will be so much fun. This is a long one, with lots of photos and details...both of which I love about this "project." But yeah, a day with two little kids that don't have long attention spans? There's lots of action and details to document. No surprise it has taken me almost a week to get it all written and assembled. -------- Sunday, April 9, 2017 Jon 38, Lisa 36, Carter 28 months, Annabel 6 weeks 2:00am | I wake to hear crying and take a second to register which kid it is. (Still mind boggling I have two kids). Once I realize it's Annabel, I grab my phone and glasses, knocking over her monitor in the process, and race down the hall to her room to grab her before her cries wake up Carter. (For the record, I don...

Carter - 2 Years

Well. I can't believe I forgot to post anything at Carter's second birthday! I managed to write for every month his first year of life and then can't remember to capture the annual version? Eesh. Since I don't want to forget Carter and all that he is right now, I suppose this is better late than never. This boy, he's larger than life. Such a funny personality, always laughing, always smiling, ,always hopping or running or climbing. Definitely full of energy. I love him to pieces. First, the numbers. At his birthday Carter was about 34.5 inches tall and weighed 28 pounds. In size 5 diapers and 24-mo and 2T clothing, although still wearing some 18-mo stuff due to his tiny waist. Carter continues to be an awesome sleeper. One of Jon's clients just commented how they finally turned a corner with their 3-year-old and sleep, and Jon was baffled. We don't have any issues with sleep, thankfully. He goes to bed pretty well, after a few stalling techniqu...

Annabel - One month

Image
And just like that, Annabel turns one month old. (Ok, one and a half weeks ago...somehow it took that long to get this written). Even this second time around, I'm still baffled at how fast it goes. The days (and nights) often felt long, thanks to lack of sleep and constant feedings, rockings, and diaper changes. And yet here we are already. Annabel has been a dream come true, in so many ways. For the most part, she is a very chill baby. The day after we returned home from the hospital, she napped on the couch while we vacuumed and did dishes and watched some TV. The noise didn't bother her, much to our delight. I guess growing up in a house with a loud older sibling means you naturally adjust? That, or we just got lucky. She weighed in at 9lbs 4oz at two weeks, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's over 10lbs now. She's rocking an excellent double chin, and while she's still long and lean, she's got some sweet rolls forming on her wrists and thig...
