One month down, eleven to go!  So far, this task of taking a photo every day isn't so hard.  There are some days that do not feel photo-worthy in the least, but I'm determined to do this, and so I've managed to find something. Every day life isn't always a Kodak moment, and yet I guess I'm trying to prove that it is.  Hmmm.  

My love for coffee began while I lived in Costa Rica.   I didn’t drink it regularly, but often enough.   Café con leche… mmmmmm, there’s nothing better.   I taught English classes at a coffeeplantation , and snacked on chocolate-covered coffee beans every day.   Yeah, that definitely fueled my taste for it. When I moved home, I started working “an office job” and my morning cup of java became a routine quickly.   I bought myself a 4-cup coffee maker, as it didn’t take me long to realize that I was missing it on the weekends.   It wasn’t the caffeine that I craved, but the ritual of a hot beverage in the morning. I became a coffee addict in no time. Fast forward a couple of years to when I met Jon. He is not a coffee drinker - boo.   So when I would stay at his place (after a long time dating of course…hi Mom and Dad), I really missed my coffee in the morning. A time or two I got up early and drove to the nearest gas station to get my fix. ...

I had nothing better to do this morning at 5:30am while waiting at the airport than look through the 1,700+ photos on my iPhone.  I wanted to delete duplicates or bad ones to make some space, because I was headed to San Diego, without my real camera, and I needed to make sure I had space.  How many photos can an iPhone 5 store anyways? While looking through the more recent ones, I came across quite a few that I never did anything with.  They weren't posted on IG or FB.  I didn't blog about them.  They simply sat on my phone, which bothers me.  Why take a photo if you never do anything with it? Well, I take a lot of photos, unnecessarily, for no good purpose, so maybe not ALL should be expected worthy of sharing. I've decided to attempt a rather large task this year.  I'm going to take a photo every day in 2014.       I heard about this the other day and thought it was right up my alley.  And fortunately I had already taken at least one photo the previous days since the start of the year!  Yes, this might be just right for me. The photos won't have to be perfect, or of anything specific.  People, places, things, activities...something from that day.   I'm hoping many will be taken with my actual camera, but I know that my iPhone will come in use more frequently.  They won't all have "professional" quality (I use that term lightly as I am no pro), and some might have had more forethought or intention than others.  I'm giving myself no rules, except to take a photo each day. At the end of the year, I'm going to compile them in a photo book.  I think it will be a rather unique look back on 2014. I admit that this...

Happy 2014!  Here we are, another year come and gone.  It seems like a good time to reflect on 2013, before we get so involved in the here and now of this new year.  I thought about answering the same questions as I did last year, but after staring at it for a good 20 minutes I just didn't feel inspired.  I didn't like the answers I was coming up with, and decided some of them just weren't important to me. So instead, I'll just write.  No format, no guidance, no objective other than reflection.  We'll see how this goes. 2013 was a good year for us.  I can't say that it was everything I had hoped or dreamed for, but that's life.  And in the end, there are no regrets and many blessings.
