Annabel - Nine months

Image
Oh, my Annie-Bannanie. I cannot fathom that you will be 1 year old in just 3 short months. This month was the first where we let the 26th come and go without remembering it was her birth month and we needed photos. If you know me well, you know that it bothers me terribly that these photos are a day later. OMG, a DAY. ;) Annabel weighs 20 pounds (80%) and is 28 inches long (68%). Wearing 12-month clothing and size 3 diapers. Still just two bottom teeth, but working on more. A lot to love with this one. This last month Annabel started clapping and waving. Like legit waving when she sees someone. Ok, sometimes it looks more like a nazi salute but we all know her intentions are pure. She also came up with the funniest scrunched face. And first pony tail. She has also gotten up on all fours much more often, and is inch worming her way around. Her preferred mode of movement is still rolling. She loves to stand, but still is not reliable to lean on something on her own. ...

Annabel - Eight months

Image
Well, these are taking me longer and longer to actually write. Our girl turned eight months old about two weeks ago and continues to bring such giant smiles to our faces! Let's see if I can remember what was new that month, seeing as she is doing new things constantly. First of all, she finally likes to eat food! I kept periodically trying puree here and there, and at last shortly after her 7 month mark she willingly and eagerly opened her mouth to eat what I was offering. Since then we introduced puffs so she could start working on hand/eye coordination, and we quickly learned that she was all about feeding herself. She went from awkwardly gripping them in her fist to using her pincer grasp within 2 weeks. She now flails her legs and arms when we sit her in her high chair and she can see the container of puffs. I continue to offer her purees merely to introduce new foods to her for allergy observation, but she really doesn't care too much about being spoon fed. ...

Day in the Life - Fall 2017

Image
Time for another 'Day in the Life!' Although it sounded like a lot of work, even more so than the last time around when Annabel was only 6 weeks old and slept much of our day, I knew our typical days are so different than last Spring and it was worth the effort to capture again. So, here we are. I took a lot of photos once again, because, well, that's my jam. And my joy. --------- Sunday, October 15, 2017 Jon is 38, Lisa is freshly 37, Carter is just shy of 3 years, and Annabel is almost 8 months. 12:15 am | Well darn. I guess asking for sleeping through the night two nights in a row is asking too much. I go in and pick up a crying Annabel and sit down to nurse her. Settled in, I check out Pinterest for some family photo inspirations per my cousin's suggestion, as she is taking a few photos for us next weekend. I start thinking about what Jon and I are going to wear that will fit in well with the kids's outfits. Everyone on Pinterest looks so put together....
