Thankful, Day 17
Today I am thankful I have never personally experienced a natural disaster.

I've read a few articles about the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and have seen too many photos and could not begin to imagine what they are going through. Their lives destroyed, literally and figuratively. Lost family, destroyed houses and possessions, no water or electricity or adequate care...
The thing is, these disasters happen everywhere, not just in developing countries or far away places. We've seen a number of them in our own country. I feel fortunate that my own life, here in MN, has escaped such tragedy so far.
Something like this certainly puts the important things in life into perspective.
